Applying For India Visa Online
In a video message, the High Commissioner of India to the UK, Vikram K Doraiswami, announced to resume the Indian E-visa for UK Citizens travelling to the country.
The service will be made available to the UK Nationals forthwith said Doraiswamiand the dates will be announced shortly for the E-visa for India.
This will enable people from the UK to travel more easily to the country India, after resumption.
“We are rolling out e-visas once again and this service will be made available to you forthwith. (Dates will be announced shortly). That should enable friends from the UK far more easily to India. So welcome back, e-visas are up ahead and all of our other services including visas at your doorstep remain available to you. We look forward to a good winter season in which everyone gets to celebrate their festivals in India which is the land of festivals", as per the High Commissioner.
There are 6 categories of Indian E-Visa that are admissible as per the Indian Government website. Those are: e-Tourist Visa, e-Business Visa, e-Medical Visa, e-Medical Attendant Visa and e-Conference Visa.
How To Apply For eVisa India
You can visit the website that is indianonline.gov.in to apply for Indian E-visa.
Fill in the required details by clicking on the option “Apply here for e-visa” on the website. Select the category of the Evisa for India you wish to apply for. You will be required to upload a Photo and the Passport Page.
After this, the next step is to make the payment for the E-visa online using a Credit/ Debit card/ Payment Wallet. The fees vary from country to country.
The E-visa will be sent to the registered email ID of the applicant.
Print a copy of the E-visa and carry it along with you on your trip. It will be asked at the immigration check post where E-Visa will be stamped on the passport.
After the application for Evisa is submitted, it will check for any discrepancies like any document is missing or the image is mismatched or unclear. The applicant would be then contacted through their registered email and asked to rectify the mistakes by reuploading the images. To re-upload use the tab at the bottom of the page. Applicants should normally receive this mail within 24 hours.
The processing time for Evisa usually takes 72 hours or more. The applicants can check their India E-visa application status (grated or rejected). And the same will be informed on their Email ID too.
Fee For E-Visa Application
The fees for the Indian E-visa vary from country to country. Currently, as per the website, for an e-tourist visa, the fee ranges from $10-$80 depending on the duration of the visa applied. The fee charges for e-Business, e-Medical, e-Medical Attendant and e-Conference Visa ranges from $40-$275.
When To Apply For The E-Visa
As per the government website: for e-Tourist Visa (01 year / 05 years), e-Business Visa, e-Medical, e-Medical Attendant and e-Conference visa, applicants of the eligible countries/territories may apply online minimum 4 days in advance of the date of arrival. Such an application can be made 120 days in advance from the proposed date of travel.
For e-Tourist Visa (30 days), applicants of the eligible countries/territories may apply an online minimum of 4 days in advance of the date of arrival. Such an application can be made 30 days in advance from the proposed date of travel.
